Athene Holding: ATHS Note Vs. ATH.PR.A

Introduction

I recently compared the Athene Holding Ltd. Rate Reset Junior Subordinated Debentures due 03/30/2064 ( ATHS ) against a similar Note issued by the Kemper Corporation ( KMPR ), which I preferred due to its higher Call possibility ( article link ). Here ATHS is compared to owning one of the Athene Holding’s preferred stocks, the Athene Holding Ltd. 6.35% Dep Sh Fix/Float Non-Cumul Pref Shares Ser A ( ATH.PR.A ) which have similar Call dates though extra feature differences come into play when comparing Notes and preferreds and those are covered later....
